"The course, Ebola Virus Disease: Awareness and Precautions for Peace Operations Personnel, provided a comprehensive understanding of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), including its transmission patterns, prevention strategies, infection control measures, and operational implications within high-risk and humanitarian environments. The programme emphasized the importance of public health preparedness, occupational safety, risk communication, and coordinated institutional responses in managing infectious disease outbreaks. A key strength of the course was its focus on practical precautionary measures, health surveillance systems, personal protective protocols, and multidisciplinary coordination required to reduce transmission risks and protect both personnel and communities. The programme also highlighted the importance of evidence-based health interventions, community awareness, and adherence to international public health standards during outbreak response operations. The course was highly relevant to my professional work within public health systems, mental health services, rehabilitation, and community-based healthcare programmes. It strengthened my understanding of infection prevention, crisis response coordination, psychosocial implications of disease outbreaks, and the importance of integrated healthcare systems in maintaining institutional resilience and public safety. The programme further reinforced the importance of stakeholder collaboration, health governance, preventative strategies, and emergency preparedness within complex operational and resource-constrained environments. Overall, the course was informative, professionally enriching, and closely aligned with my broader interests in health systems strengthening, public health governance, mental health support, and sustainable community-centered service delivery."
