Who We Serve
The Peace Operations Training Institute (POTI) offers e-learning courses on current topics in peace support, humanitarian relief, and security and stability operations. Our training provides the flexibility and accessibility for students to begin any time and study at their own pace. Our curriculum aims to build solid, practical knowledge of United Nations peace operations, stability operations, and related topics, with course materials written by former Force Commanders, Military Advisers to the Department of Peace Operations, experienced peacekeepers, published scholars, and experts in their fields.

Peacekeeping Training Centres in Africa, Latin America, select nations within the Asia Pacific, as well as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka are eligible for training free of tuition.
Academia
All university and college students, faculty, staff, and Model UN participants may enrol at a reduced tuition rate. This programme also gives universities worldwide the opportunity to offer POTI e-learning courses as supplemental reading or primary text material for undergraduate and graduate curricula, allowing interested scholars and Model UN participants the chance to study real-world training used by peacekeepers and mission staff.
NGOs
POTI provides individual members of humanitarian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with flexible, affordable training. We offer courses on gender issues, ethics, logistics, human rights, and many more.
Peace Operations Personnel
The Institute is proud to provide free e-learning for all military personnel, police, and civilians assigned to all African Union, European Union, UN, and hybrid peace operations through the E-Learning for Mission Staff (ELMS) programme. ELMS provides training on peace support, humanitarian relief, and security operations to mission staff. Additionally, many of our courses are written by former Force Commanders, advisers to the Department of Peace Operations, and experienced peacekeepers.
POTI is able to grant training at low or no cost to many peacekeepers around the world thanks to the generous support of Global Affairs Canada’s Peace and Stabilization Operations Programme and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
