Lesson Five: Mission and Community Support and Quick Impact Projects

Lesson five discusses mission support operations and community support operations. CIMIC officers at the sector and battalion level are likely to become involved in identifying, planning, and overseeing missions support operations, whilst those in force headquarters are likely to be involved in setting policies and guidelines for community support operations. This lesson will also address Quick Impact Projects--flexible support for non-recurrent activities in the health, education, public infrastructure, and social service sectors. CIMIC officers are likely to work in management and implementation of QIPs. After learning about mission support operations, community support operations, and quick impact projects, the student should be able to understand and discuss the challenges and principles behind such operations.
