Philip Wilkinson

Lt. Col. Philip Wilkinson, MBE joined the British Army in 1967 and was commissioned into the Royal Artillery in 1969. He served with the Commando and Parachute Brigades, Special Forces, and commanded the Artillery Regiment in the United Kingdom's Airmobile Brigade. He had two years’ service in the Far East, one year in the Middle East and Falklands, and six years in Northern Ireland for which he became an MBE. His last appointment was as a member of the Directing Staff of the Canadian Land Force Command and Staff College. Since 1993, Lt. Col. Wilkinson has been responsible to the Director of Land Warfare for the production of the British Armies doctrine for Peace Support Operations. Having produced the Army Field Manual Wider Peacekeeping, he is now expanding it to encompass peace enforcement to produce a single manual for all PSO.
