"What I liked most about the Health of Peace Operations Personnel course was its comprehensive approach to the complex health challenges faced in conflict and emergency settings. The course effectively highlighted the interconnectedness of health, human rights, and peacebuilding, showing how health interventions can contribute positively to peace processes when implemented with conflict sensitivity. I appreciated the detailed coverage of infectious diseases commonly encountered in peace operations, such as HIV/AIDS, cholera, and rabies, and the practical guidance on prevention measures like oral cholera vaccines and intradermal rabies vaccination. This information is highly relevant for personnel deployed in the field, especially in regions like West Africa. The course also provided valuable insights into mental health and psychosocial support, especially the use of Psychological First Aid (PFA), which is a critical skill for frontline responders dealing with trauma and stress. Additionally, the emphasis on the protection of health-care systems and personnel in conflict zones was enlightening, as it underscored the risks they face and the importance of safeguarding their roles. Overall, the course was well-structured and informative, combining theoretical knowledge with practical considerations. If there is one area for enhancement, it would be to include more interactive elements such as real-world case studies or scenario-based exercises to deepen understanding and application."

"The "Health of Peace Operations Personnel" course offers a thorough and insightful overview of the complex health challenges faced by peacekeeping personnel in the field. It effectively combines theory with practical case studies, addressing both mental and physical health risks in high-stress environments. The course content is clear, relevant, and well-structured, and it highlights the importance of operational readiness, preventive measures, and long-term wellness strategies. I particularly appreciated the focus on psychosocial support and the integration of duty-of-care principles, which are often overlooked in field missions. As a student of International Relations and Diplomacy with aspirations of working in the UN system, this course has enhanced my understanding of the responsibilities we owe to peace operations staff and the importance of institutional support. I strongly recommend it to anyone interested in peacekeeping, humanitarian work, or global health within conflict zones."
