Lesson 8: Human Rights of Vulnerable Persons and Groups I: Women's Rights (FR Subtitles)
Transcripción del video
Lesson 8 introduces you to the concept of vulnerable groups. It identifies these vulnerable groups, the special protection these groups are given under international human rights law, and—despite an extant prohibition on discrimination and unequal treatment—the many reasons that make this special protection still necessary. In the second half of the lesson you will focus on the largest vulnerable group: women, and the various global and regional systems that protect women’s rights. Excerpts of the Convention of the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (known as CEDAW) are provided at the end of the lesson.
