About the Course: This course is a primer for those who want to know more about the United Nations and its role in international peace and security. The UN system is large and complex, comprising many independent parts. Success in any field operation will only be achieved when the many components work together towards a shared vision and common purpose; therefore, UN personnel must recognize that a high level of integration is essential. This course is designed to lead the aspirant UN practitioner in this direction, outlining how the UN responds to the global challenges of the present day. Furthermore, the course describes the United Nations framework and principal organs, different types of field missions, ethics in the field, and much more. Nine lessons.
