Greetings, and welcome to the Peace Operations Training Institute distance-training course Logistical Support to United Nations Peacekeeping Operations: An Introduction. My name is Kamran Baig, and I am the author of this course. This introductory course provides the background and rationale behind UN Peacekeeping Logistics, following the logistics cycle of a UN Mission from inception to drawdown and liquidation. By the end of the course, students should be able to explain the United Nations Peacekeeping Logistics Concept, and describe the organizational and financial aspects of logistics support. The student should also have a solid understanding of the cooperative aspects of non-DPKO actors, including local actors, non-governmental organizations, other United Nations organs, and contributing nations. If you have any questions regarding the course, please contact me via the Student-Teacher Communication Form at the URL below. Thank you for enrolling in the Peace Operations Training Institute's distance training, and I wish you success in your studies of United Nations peacekeeping.
