Without an effective and secure system of communication, a mission cannot operate. In Lesson 9, you will cover the general provision of communications support and services in a mission area, from landline telephones to satellite communications links. Upon completion of this lesson, you should have a firm understanding of the critical tasks required of the Chief Communications Officer and his/her staff in order to implement a UN mission communications system.
