The second lesson of the course illustrates some of the major factors that influence the planning of logistics support for a UN mission. Upon completion of this lesson, you should be able to understand each of the six phases of a peacekeeping operation, from standby to redeployment, and how to ensure that a mission’s mandate corresponds with the contributions and resources available for that region. In addition, you will understand the basic preparations necessary for the provision and maintenance of materials and personnel on peacekeeping missions.
