Congratulations to Ellen Margrethe Løj, Danish diplomat and member of the POTI Board of Directors!
On 23 July UN Secretary-General BAN Ki-Moon announced the appointment of Ms. Løj as his new Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS).
Ms. Løj brings a wealth of experience in peacekeeping and international affairs to her new position, having served as the Special Representative of the Secretary-General to the United Nations Mission in Liberia from 2008 to 2012. Previously, Ms. Løj held a number of senior positions in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including as Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and Ambassador to Israel.
Ms. Løj has been a member of the POTI Board of Directors since 2012, we are grateful for her contributions to our mission of bringing peacekeeping training to those in the field and wish her success in her new appointment.
