Ban Ki-moon Appoints Lieutenant General Maqsood Ahmed of Pakistan UN PKO MILAD

On Monday 26 August 2013, UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon appointed Lieutenant General Maqsood Ahmeda of Pakistan to the post of Military Adviser for United Nations Peacekeeping Operations.

Lt. Gen. Ahmed has served as a Corps Commander in Pakistan's Armed Forces. He counts among his many other military posts, serving as an Infantry Commander and a completed UN peacekeeping tour of duty in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUC) in 2005 and 2006.

Lt. Gen. Ahmed is also an alumnus of POTI, having completed the Commanding United Nations Peacekeeping Operations course while serving at MONUSCO in 2006. The course is written by former UN PKO MILAD Major General (Ret). Tim Ford of Australia.
