The final lesson of the course consists of two real-life examples of armed conflict and its impact on women from a human rights point of view. After reading the historical background to the two UN missions, UNAMIR and MINUSTAH, you will then analyse the readings for each, which have been drawn from UNIFEM reports on both Rwanda and Haiti. While the reports include a comprehensive analysis of the impact of the conflicts on women, we will only focus on what relates to the area of human rights.
