 Video Transcript

At its most basic level, logistics is the provision of transportation, housing, supplies, and technical support. Providing for staff and troops from over 100 countries, UN logistical planning must be aware of both international and local perspectives, and it must also take into consideration the broad range of actions undertaken by a single peacekeeping operation. Lesson 2 describes the specific terminology of peace operations, as well as the underlying principles and concepts of all UN logistical support. The lesson also describes the different types of logistic support, from administrative services to aviation support.
