The Center for Peace Mission Studies, through the Raoul Dandurand Chair of Strategic and Diplomatic Studies at UQAM, has designed a two-week course on the management of humanitarian operations, entitled "Séminaire d'approfondissement sur les opérations humanitaires."
This seminar, conducted in French, will review the developments of contemporary humanitarian operations in the world in 2008 and will present the main challenges and problems faced by modern humanitarian actors.
The course is intended for students working towards a Master's degree in Political Science, Law, International Relations and other eligible degrees. It is also intended for all professionals interested in humanitarian operations.
Etudiantes vont:
-- Développer des capacités danalyse et dintervention dans le cadre des opérations humanitaires contemporaines.
-- Cerner les interactions et les interrelations entre les différents acteurs de laction humanitaire.
-- Analyser lenvironnement dans lequel se déroulent les opérations humanitaires des Nations Unies, des différents États et des autres acteurs internationaux, gouvernementaux ou non gouvernementaux.
-- Développer un regard pratique sur la gestion de laction humanitaire.
