This two-week course is intended for trainees with no previous mission experience. The aim of the course is to familiarise participants with the basic elements required for a professional and effective deployment of police officers in the context of civilian crises management operations.
Police officers will have adequate training to ensure that they:
- posses the professional qualifications and personal skills to accomplish tasks required of them as members of a multinational police force in the context of a civil management operation;
- posses a working knowledge of other international organisations, their rules, functions, mandates, legal framework and the regulations and procedures;
- are familiar with the possible operational risk situations, health risks and other dangers which may be encountered during missions, also be aware of alternative courses of action appropriate to a particular situation and have basic first-aid skills; and
- know some stress-management techniques and are able to put them into practise to help themselves and others.
Students should have at least 5 years of service after completing State Police College.
