Course description
The aim of the course is to brief personnel who have not attended the South Africa National War College or the South African Defence College upon the realities of modern Peace Support Operations. This will enable them to make better informed decisions regarding South Africas support to PSO.
The course will introduce personnel to PSO by providing them with a historical overview of the evolution of peacekeeping operations and how this is influencing current peacekeeping operations; establishing a peacekeeping operation and important aspects of current complex peacekeeping operations.
The course is one week long, run by the Staff (South African) and subject matter experts, both military and civilian. The course is delivered through a series of lectures, discussions, and case studies.
Number of Students per Course:
40 Military Rank Range: Warrant Officer to Brigadier General.
Other Government Departments: Civilian equivalent.
The Course is only open to South Africa Personnel.
