Course description
The aim of the seminar is to familiarise selected Australian and overseas personnel with the UN, and peace operations (both UN and multi-national force) and factors influencing national participation, and is suited to personnel involved in the strategic and operational planning and conduct of peace operations.
The seminar is addressed by a number of high profile presenters from the Australian Defence Force, Government, academia, and other peace operations experts.
Subject matter includes UN structure and reform, mission planning, legal/IHL issues, civil/military cooperation, government and non-government organisations, the role of the media, UN Logistics, human rights and gender issues.
Designed for the ranks of MAJ to LTCOL (or equivalent), the seminar panel is open to Australian Defence personnel and approximately half of the panel allocated to other government, non-government, and international organisations, and foreign military, by invitation from the ADF PKC.
Location: The seminar will be conducted in Canberra, Australia.
