Our training provides the flexibility and accessibility for students to study at their own pace. Our curriculum aims to build solid, practical knowledge of UN peacekeeping and related topics.
Institute course authors are former Force Commanders, Military Advisers to DPKO, experienced peacekeepers, published authors, and scholars expert in their fields.
Our courses are available online, making them readily accessible to you.
Who Do We Train? Thousands of students from over 170 nations have enrolled in our courses. Serving military and civilian peacekeepers, police, humanitarian relief workers, United Nations staff, and others interested in global peace and security, many of our courses are offered in multiple languages, including Arabic, English, French, and Spanish. We constantly strive to provide the most accurate and relevant courses possible, and we regularly update our curriculum with new courses, additional translations, and revised texts. How Much Does It Cost? Some students qualify for free enrolment under sponsored programmes, while others qualify for reduced fees under discounted programmes. Every effort is made to keep the fees paid by students to a minimum.
The Peace Operations Training Institute is a 501(c)(3) public charity based in the United States of America. We are an independent not-for-profit organization.
Virtual Learning Environment Students work within our virtual classroom to complete their distance learning course training.
Students have access to all their training materials, exams, certificates, student forums, and everything else they might need inside their secure online learning environment.
Looking for a Greater Challenge? You can complete individual courses and receive a certificate of completion. However, students looking for a greater challenge may be interested in enrolling in our Certificate of Training in United Nations Peace Support Operations (COTIPSO) Programme.
