Course description

UN Logistics Course. This is a 3-week course conducted to develop an understanding of all UN logistics aspects. This includes: mandate, preparations, deployment, national support, supply, transportation, engineering, finance, civil affairs, medical services, personnel organization, personnel directives, pay & allowances, leave, conduct and discipline, travel, rotation, recreation/welfare, reports and returns, board of inquiry, driving, awards/ceremonies, postal, military and civilian humanitarian affairs. The course is conducted as an overlap at the tactical and operational levels, targeting officers of the ranks of Capt/Maj/Lt Col who will be employed at the Force or sector HQ and some key staff of the battalions. The cost of the course is Ksh 130,000 (approximately USD 1650) per participant. During the year 2002, the UN will sponsor this course at PSTC for about 40 multi-national participants.
