Greetings. You are receiving this message because you are subscribed to the UNITAR POCI mailing list for training officers. For more information or to unsubscribe, please visit:

We are writing with news about our training programmes for personnel currently serving at United Nations peacekeeping mission. Even if your peacekeeping mission does not subscribe to our Integrated Distance Learning Programme (IDLP), we still offer low-cost training opportunities for your mission. You can read about these other programmes here:

Students who enrol in the MCEL, ISEL, or UNVEL programmes have traditionally paid their tuition via a Western Union or MoneyGram money transfer. These money transfers are received by a designated UNITAR POCI staff member in the United States.
In the past few months, we have had many problems with money transfers through Western Union. Students complained that transfers were sometimes blocked or delayed, leading to long delays in receiving training materials. We have not been able to fully resolve these problems with Western Union.
We will continue to investigate ways to keep the MCEL, ISEL, and UNVEL programmes running smoothly so that students at your missions can continue to receive the training they want and need. For the time being, we have changed the designated recipient of Western Union and MoneyGram transfers:
Name: Brian Mitchell
City: Gainesville
State: Florida
Country: USA
Even though these training programmes are meant to involve a minimum of effort on the part of the mission training offices, we thought you should be aware of these changes in case you receive questions from your personnel. As always, you can write to our IDLP Coordinator, Mr. Brian Mitchell, with questions about training programmes at your mission. His e-mail address is mitchell@unitarpoci.org.
We apologize for any difficulties your students may have faced as a result of the Western Union payment problems. We look forward to providing more tuition payment options in the future, so that as many students as possible can take UNITAR POCI training courses.
Thank you for reading.
